Report: Donovan Almost Out, Van Gundy In

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Magic are close to resolving their coaching fiasco by agreeing to a deal to dismiss Billy Donovan and hire Stan Van Gundy, according to reports Tuesday.

ESPN.com reported Donovan and the team were finalizing an agreement for his departure. Terms would prevent Donovan from coaching in the NBA for five years, sources told the outlet. The Orlando Sentinel reported that the Magic offered a contract to Van Gundy, a former Heat coach and current adviser to Pat Riley in Miami.

The Magic might have to compensate the Heat with money or a draft pick because Van Gundy is still under contract through June 30, 2008. Miami only has a first-round pick, No. 20 …

Riot police violently broke up several gay rights demonstrations in Moscow on Saturday, hauling away scores of protesters hours before the Russian capital hosted a major international pop music competition.

Albania decides to sell state-owned oil company

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — Albania has decided to sell the state-owned Albpetrol sh.a. Patos oil company.

Parliament voted 72-62 to sell 100 percent of Albpetrol in Patos, 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of the capital Tirana, which has valued its assets, including six oil sources, four gas ones, one of bituminous sands and its infrastructure, at €322 million ($420 million).
