MAN PLEADS GUILTY IN 2 ALBANY BANK HEISTS.(Local)

Another robber charged in connection with a string of bank holdups over the spring and summer pleaded guilty Thursday to netting more than $5,700 in thefts at two city banks in June.

James Anthony Spears, 30, formerly of Park Lane Apartments in Menands, admitted before County Judge John G. Turner Jr. to holdups at the Key Bank at 1196 Western Ave. on June 9 when he made off with $4,522; and on June 5 at Home and City Savings Bank at 583 New Scotland Ave., at which he got $1,220.

The counts of third-degree and fourth-degree grand larceny to which Spears pleaded guilty satisfied a four-count indictment against him. …
