Rice talks with Chinese foreign minister, urges restraint with Tibetan protesters

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has strongly urged her Chinese counterpart to use restraint in dealing with protesters in Tibet.

The U.S. State Department says Rice and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi spoke Wednesday night for about 20 minutes; Rice also pushed for China to start talks with the Dalai Lama.
