Feeling stressed

A full-body massage or a weekend away from work, the kids and the dog certainly would help decrease stress levels, but those options aren't always feasible. Try these suggestions to help lift your spirits:

Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol, and foods such as starchy vegetables and refined sugar and white flour. These foods can cause blood sugar swings that will affect your mood and stress levels.

Participate in a new activity. Yoga, tai chi and gardening have all been shown to decrease stress.

Try an herbal supplement like valerian, kava or chamomile.
