3.30pm: Etonbury governor welcomes council decision
A leading opponent of a change to the Bedfordshire schools system has spoken of today's decision to stick with the status quo.
Beds Council Council today (Thursday) voted to stick with lower, mmiddle and upper schools.
Following the council's decision Roy Arden, chairman of governors for Etonbury Middle School in Arlesey, said: "We are absolutely delighted.
"Whatever the feelings are about primary, secondary and middle schools, to change it would have caused massive disruption for a gret many years.
